Eggs For Soldiers: Toast Soldiers

The UK-based charity Eggs For Soldiers created 1.000 soldiers out of toast in London’s Royal Artillery Museum. Inspired by the terracotta army of China’s Qin Dynasty, this creative work of art is also a visual pun on “Toast Soldiers”—a popular breakfast dish in England that involves dunking a piece of bread into soft boiled eggs. This was done to promote the charity’s sale of eggs to raise funds for injured soldiers—we wonder if viewers of the exhibition got the joke.
