Street name signs are a very popular new guerrilla medium! Street names were already replaced in a small village in Italy and streets without a name got named in Nicaragua. Now it’s time for Brazil. During the military dictatorship, thousands of brazillians were tortured by the government. This horrible period ended 32 years ago, but the history still seems very present because street signs still have the names of the military that were directly involved with these crimes.
It’s time to end this worshipping of one of the darkest periods of brazilian history through the the Streets of Shame campaign.
